Right now it's 106 degrees in Chico....damn that's hot! Hallucinations brought on by heat stroke are bringing me back to the fun weekend Michelle and I just had.
If you've ever seen Mt Shasta up close or taken a drive through Lassen Volcanic National Park you can understand my appreciation for these two great places. And you can stop rubbing your eyes, they are still skiing there. If my ankle wasn't bum still we would be tearing up some corn this weekend, I couldn't beleive how much snow there was. I guess being at over 8,000 feet has its advantages. Needless to say we are going to be spending alot of time here this winter, it really seems endless.
Let me wipe the drool off my chin and continue about the trip. We decided to escape the inferno and head into the mountains. A quick 2 hour drive led us to the town of Mt Shasta and McCloud River Falls, where we spent a few days mountain biking, swimming, and drinking too much in the shadow of Shasta. It's a nice area and if the stars were to align we would definately consider re-locating there. We have decided that we need to be in the mountains by next summer, we want to live where we ski (and hopefully mountain bike, hike, kayak, etc). Right now we are enjoying being a little more active than we were in Alaska so it may be a few years before we head back, but really who knows, we may end up there next year or never again. We just wish all of our friends from around the country would move to where we are, that's not too much to ask, is it?
Hope that everyone is having a great summer!!

Wondering if you folks could do me a favor? If you have the time, please check the "job listings" in your local paper for a beer taster position...or perhaps beer swiller, beer lover, beer luster, covetous beer sinner, or Party Dude. Due let me know what you find out.
Sounds like you're feelin right at home there - hope you decide to stay in the STATES.

Kate
