Well, if you haven't heard yet, we have added a new family member to our Alaskan household, the most un-Alaskan dog....a male chihuhua/miniature poodle mix named Zuess (what else). I would have preferred Moose but Zuess was the name he came with and Clarity decided she liked it, especially when it was printed on a pink dog tag with Princess on the other side. Zuess will be one confused dog but he is turning out to be an ideal family dog. He isn't a yapper and is showing himself to be reasonably intelligent. If he can survive the constant handling and pestering of our daughter he'll be a good fit.
We recently returned from a trip to Colorado and Oregon to visit family and friends, and retrieve all of our things from our Hood River, Oregon garage. Luckily Estes Park, where we spend our time in Colorado, wasn't suffering from the fires and smoke of much of the rest of Colorado. We had a great trip playing music, visiting, and hunting for bones.

Clarity and I left Michelle in Seattle and diverted to Portland to visit my parents and take care of a few loose ends. When we left Hood River 3 years ago we left all of our things in our garage. I finally went and gathered everything and got it on a barge heading north. After moving 4000 pounds of household items twice and driving 8 hours I was tired, but Clarity got to hang out with Grandma and Papa so she was having fun visiting the zoo and going shopping.

After returning to Fairbanks our little girl turned 5 years old on July 9th. Hard to believe she's already 5. This fall we officially start kindergarten, and luckily we will be homeschooling in our new home in Fairbanks. We hope to be closing July 19th, and we're really happy about the house and the land. It's 10 miles north of Fairbanks in the south facing hills, and Clarity's favorite part is that it has a hot tub. Michelle has been enjoying her new job as a head honcho and is also finishing up an organic/biochemistry course (we're so pround of her). Life is really good right now and we're looking forward to our new adventure in Alaska, we're still not encouraging writing our address in ink just yet, we're already talking about taking a year off to travel after Michelle completes her 3 year contract (and we sell our Hood River house). We're as settled as we're ever going to be, have a beautiful house, and soon a top notch brewery in the garage, so you have no excuse for not visiting. Hope everyone is doing well.
