Drum Roll Please

Well, we have almost, pretty much, kind of made up our minds as to our next destination.  Somewhere warm, sunny, exotic, tropical perhaps........not exactly.  We have decided to stay in Fairbanks for the winter.  Maybe it's all the heavy metals in the water but the city has kind of grown on us.

Come on, doesn't it look like a dragon?

Or maybe we're just too darned lazy to pack everything up and move it back down south.  Actually, there are many reasons, some financial and some personal.  Clarity is really growing intellectually and socially and we are enjoying our homeschool association as well as the many other activities we have found here.
We're Crafty

The weather has definately turned, we have had a couple snow showers and it's mighty chilly on our morning walks.  Clarity is adapting quite well and eagerly anticipates the mornings when we get to see if there is enough snow for a snowball fight that day.

BOO!

We have "officially" started our homeschool program with Clarity, although it's a lot of the same things we are already doing, just with a little more rhythm and intent.  We purchased a nice curriculum from Earthschooling resources, which is basically Waldorf inspired but with other things thrown in as well.  It's a good thing we're starting this now, it's a lot of material to take in and quite a bit of organization is required to make it go smoothly.  I have seen the difference in Clarity already, her ability to sit and focus on a task, help put crafts together, and follow instructions and show some patience during baking duties is making daily tasks much more fun and cooperative.  Although not an easy or conventional decision, we feel so positive about the choices we are making for Clarity and lucky to meet others willing to struggle and learn alongside us.
